How To Keep Your Wedding Guests Dancing All Night Long

How To Keep Your Wedding Guests Dancing All Night Long

You’ve spent months (maybe even years) planning every last detail of your wedding, from the flowers to the food to the colour scheme. But there’s one thing that does set the tone and make some fantastic memories, and that’s what happens on the dancefloor. And the truth is, every couple is going to want their party to hit full swing with everyone dancing the night away.

So how can you make that happen? There are a few things you can do, so keep reading to find out more.

Start Strong And Set The Tone

The first thing to think about is the transition from dinner to dancing because the easier and more natural you make it, the more likely it is that people are going to get up and dance. If there’s too much of a lull, guests are going to get comfortable in their seats, and any momentum that might have been building will slow down. So once the speeches are done and the cake has been cut, don’t waste time – get the lights down and the music going straight away.

And of course, you’ll probably want your first dance to be romantic, but just make sure as soon as that’s done, you move on to some more energetic songs.

Get A Professional To Handle The Music

It’s tempting to think that you can build the perfect playlist yourself. But the thing to remember is that you’re not going to be able to make one that’s pretty much guaranteed to get everyone up dancing – it’ll be full of things you like, but those songs might not necessarily be right for a wedding party.

That’s why it’s best to invest in a DJ or, even better, a wedding band that knows exactly what songs work and which ones to avoid. In that way, they’ll be able to keep the dancefloor full with a fantastic mixture of upbeat and slower songs, party favourites and the latest hits, and it’ll all come together perfectly.

Snacks And Shoes

Something else that’s going to help people enjoy dancing a lot more is late-night snacks. Everyone’s going to be using a lot of energy, and it may have been hours since dinner, so bringing out a selection of snacks when the room starts to get a bit tired and people are dancing less is a genius idea. You could have something like mini burgers and hotdogs, for example, or maybe even some donuts or cookies for a sugary boost.

Then there’s the shoes to consider. Even when people are keen to keep dancing, their feet might be saying no, often because they’re dressed up in fancy shoes to look the part, but those fancy shoes are not great for bopping about in. So what about having a stash of flip flops or even slippers for people to wear if they need them? If that’s what’s going to keep people going until the very last minute, it’s worth thinking about (and it’s something your guests are going to remember as well).
