I didn’t have any real flowers at my wedding, I had paper garlands and flowers made by my mum, and I made my wedding bouquet along with buttonholes and my Bridesmaid’s bouquets, too.
The reason for this, is because I was trying to shave money off my wedding budget, and it was lovely to involve my mum so heavily in the planning process.
That’s not to say I wouldn’t have LOVED some beautiful blooms to adorn our wedding venue – I absolutely adore flowers. You can find out which flowers are in season during your wedding month over on the Interflora site, and a popular way of saving money on wedding flowers is to go to a flower market a couple of days before your big day. Another way to save money, is using anything you can get your hands on to display your beautiful blooms for a rustic, eclectic look.
Another idea is to bulk buy a wildflower seed mix from an industrial supplier and sprinkle it around your own, family and friends gardens. This can provide volume very cheaply which you can supplement with stock from a florist or market.
So, without further ado, here is some stunning wedding flower and bouquet inspiration for you… hope you find something you like.
