5 Brilliant Ways To Attract Traffic To Your Wedding Blog

5 Brilliant Ways To Attract Traffic To Your Wedding Blog

So you came here looking for ways to increase your wedding blog traffic? Well, you came to the right place. Why? Because I have been blogging about weddings and honeymoons for over 10 years. I started from absolute scratch having zero experience with blogging! The Real Wedding blog was born out of a passion for DIYing my own wedding with a shoestring budget and big dreams! Back then I was documenting everything, from how to make your own wedding invites, to bedazzling your wedding shoes with crystals.

So if you have come here to get tips on how to increase your wedding traffic, I’ve been there, done that, and here are my best tips:

Advertise in online directories where Brides and Grooms search for information

Who is your target audience? Quite likely Brides and Grooms, am I right? Think about where wedding planning couples go to get inspiration and information? Online wedding directories like Hitched and The Knot are great sources of info. for Brides and Grooms and other members of wedding parties, so utilise their blog post comments, get involved in their social shares, take advantage of free directory listings and get in touch to see if you could exchange content or be interviewed. Having a good relationship with publishers like this will always help to get the word out about your blog, and may even become a great contact for years to come.

Give out cards at wedding fairs to attract more traffic to your wedding blog

If you live and breathe weddings, and especially if you’re planning your own wedding whilst writing your blog, you’re likely to be visiting wedding fairs. Don’t forget to get some useful business cards designed that you can give out to people you meet at the fair. You could be talking to all sorts of wedding suppliers and fellow brides and grooms and this is the perfect way to build an audience.

You can also use your blog to leverage some sweet freebies. Perhaps trade-off an engagement shoot with a photographer for a free blog advert or review. What about getting a discount on your wedding dress for a bit of free promotion for the designer? Don’t be too pushy with getting things for free, after all, you are speaking to fellow business owners who are out to make a living too, so be respectful at all times and strike a deal where you equally benefit from a trade-off.

How to design business cards for your blog

Whether you are a pro at graphic design or not, you can have a beautifully designed set of business cards with ease for a great price if you choose a specialist like Aura Print (where I got my set seen here.)

I used Canva to design my wedding blog business cards, but Aura also has templates to use to make the design and print process super quick and easy.

Aura print also specialises in printed wedding invites, so you can create seriously beautiful wedding stationery at a fraction of the cost of hiring a specialist designer.

If you’re keen to be as eco-friendly as possible in everything you do in business, you can of course choose sustainably printed business cards and wedding stationery too.

Build social media profiles

When you’re a blogger, social networks are a fabulous way to not only build an audience for your content, but to share it with their friends and family too. When you build a niche audience such as brides and grooms, you’re reaching them at the perfect time so they are more likely to engage with your content and posts.

If you’re pinning lots of useful content that brides and grooms will enjoy and find interesting, you’re pretty much onto a winning traffic source. Create seriously useful content

And talking about interesting content, there are so many questions a person planning a wedding asks google every second of the day, so you’re onto a good thing if you create content that answers some of them. Think about creating wedding budget planners, how to create the ultimate table plan, unusual wedding favours, wedding dress inspiration for tall brides, perfect wedding venues in Hampshire, to name a few. The more niche and useful you can make your content, the more traffic you stand to receive.

So there you have it. 5 tried and tested ways to attract traffic to your wedding blog. Make sure you are utilising free advertising tools like online wedding directories and social networks.
