You’ll be sure of a warm welcome at Oxfam specialist bridal departments. Their trained volunteers will dedicate their time and attention to help you find the right wedding dress for you, with no hard sell.

Over 95% of the wedding dresses are new, donated by designers and bridal shops that need to make room for the next season’s stock. There’s always a wide range of styles and sizes on offer. The average cost of an Oxfam wedding dress is around £250, and they aim to pitch prices at about 30 per cent of what you would pay on the high street. You don’t need to spend a small fortune to find the perfect dress for your wedding day.

All Oxfam bridal wear departments are on the first floor where privacy is assured. Oxfam take care to create the right environment and atmosphere: every department has been specially decorated and their friendly volunteers want every customer to have a happy experience.

“I visited the Bradford shop and was bowled over by the lovely surroundings where I had the undivided attention of Molly and plenty of space to change and look at myself in the large mirrors. Trying several very different dresses, I changed my mind and went for a simple off-the shoulder design with a high bust. Thank you Oxfam.”

Donate your dress

If you are one of many generous brides who would like their wedding dress to have another life after their own special day, please consider donating it to Oxfam. Not only do your donations give another bride the opportunity to wear a fabulous dress that they might otherwise be unable to buy, the money raised by the sale really can make a difference to people living in extreme poverty.

Here’s what one of the Oxfam donors had to say:

“I know how difficult it is to find larger sizes to try on and so after my lovely day I thought about giving my dress to Oxfam. At first I couldn’t bear the thought but after wondering where I would keep it and what would eventually happen to it, I decided to give it away. I had a lovely thank you letter and I am happy knowing that it has raised good money for their essential work.”
